Little Fighter Ubuntu 10

I'm not sure about the whole Steam on Linux thing. Since Street Fighter uses XBox Live it's hard to tell. Back where Steam was fresh out on Linux I checked and usually it implied getting steam to run via Wine (wasn't using Ubuntu though). Little Fighter 2 is designed with the keyboard in mind, as players can combine key presses so they will result in special attacks that double the damage. Players have several game modes to choose from.

Hi,
This might be a dumb question but anways give it some thought.
Now that there are more OS for computers than before.
Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Crome... etc
I was wondering if this game could be played online on a Linux platform.
Has anyone tested this out? If you have can you provide some feedbacks?
Thanks

I'm also not sure how steam works in that regard but officially only games that have been individually aligned to or by design written compatible to Linux are available there.

Also - Wine IMO is more of a purpose-free thing.

I'm all for a Linux/Ubuntu version of the game. I think it would be great if people could run it on any OS they prefer.

Now, I'm not sure if it is possible to play it online with windows users, but I'd assume if the OS can emulate windows or Direct X correctly it could play over the internet properly too. I'm not entirely sure.

I really have little to no idea how the entire networking stuff is set-up these days - but most should actually be in the game with some little segment of code other than that actually filtering out which pool of players to hook up into.

I guess that's the irony with Microsoft. Whatever they do is fine, but whenever they get there they run into globality issues (as back in the days with their Internet Explorer).

I'd love to have a native version of the game for linux, even more now considering steam is expanding to linux and games are being made available in different OSs. Any chances to raise a petition?
In the mean time I guess we will have to just try wine.

They would have to use OpenGL instead of DirectX and i highly doubt they will put that much time into rewriting all that code. Especialy because the amount of people playing on a linux distro is pretty low.
